The PPGMV will receive between October 05 and 06, 2018, professors Francisco Uzal and Franklin Riet-Correa, who will teach the discipline Diagnostic and pathology of digestive diseases of ruminants. The course will take place at the Garanhuns Bovine Clinic and will have 30 places for students of the PPGMV and 10 places for students of other programs in the area of Veterinary Medicine. Interested students will be able to apply for the Sig @ in the period of readjustment of enrollment.
The Prof. Dr. Francisco Uzal is the coordinator of the California Animal Health and Food Safety Lab, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. The Prof. Uzal is one of the main references in diseases caused by clostridia in animals; is the author and co-author of several scientific papers and books in the field of disease diagnosis, including the book Clostridial diseases of animals and the chapter on diseases of the digestive system of the renowned book of veterinary pathology Jubb, Kennedy and Palmer's Pathology of Domestic Animals .
Already Prof. Dr. Franklin Riet-Correa, is a well-known personality throughout Brazil, for having been a professor at the Federal University of Pelotas and later at the Federal University of Campina Grande; having been awarded the Professor Paulo Dacorso Filho Award, considered by professionals of the area as one of the great honors of Veterinary Medicine in Brazil. He is the current coordinator of the Animal Health Platform of the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Uruguay. The Prof. Riet is also a reference in the diagnosis of animal diseases and author and co-author of several scientific articles and books, among them Ruminant and equine diseases, Toxic plants and mycotoxicoses and Toxic plants of the northeast.
