We are pleased to inform that the Maria Menezes Research Award for Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Fishing Resources and Food Science for the year 2018 was given to Prof. Fábio de S. Mendonça, currently coordinator of the PPGMV. This award given by UFRPE, aims to distinguish and publicize the name of UFRPE researchers who stand out for their relevant scientific, technological, cultural, social and innovation contributions.
On the occasion, a Master's dissertation of the PPGMV, by former student Naiara Carolline Ferreira do Nascimento, also received an honorable mention referring to the Dárdano Prize of Andrade Lima for the dissertation entitled Cardiotoxic plants for ruminants in Brazil, under the guidance of Prof. Fábio de S. Mendonça.
